Last night we had the pleasure of enjoying Cornwall at it’s best; a long warm summers evening, down in the small village harbour of Gorran Haven eating fish and chips.  The beautiful harbour has long been talked about in our family as a great place for tea and a treat, yet we had never made it down there.  However with friends visiting we decided to give it a whirl.  It is was just lovely, with lots of families enjoying the low tide, this dog friendly beach is well worth a visit for a tea time treat.

I can’t quite believe I am sat here working the final bank holiday weekend until Christmas.  We are full to the seams this weekend and campers look like they are going to be blessed with good weekend.  Although Richard is working tomorrow I cannot deny my beach mad girls the day at the bgorran aug 16each so I think we will be heading off to Porthpean to combine a bit of sand castle making (although we have do a boat and a rescue boat next to it out of the sand) along with a bit of rock pooling.  Rock pooling is not one my mummy talents – in fact I am not a fan of things that can potentially bite; but all the same we will be hunting for crabs, scrimps and anything else we can find.

And then our thoughts will start to turn to September.  How is it nearly September?  Our oldest daughter starts school in a few weeks, so exciting times ahead and we get to enjoy all the wonderful events on around Cornwall.
