This week we have had great fun on our day off.  We caught the train from St Austell train station to Falmouth, for the four of us it was £12.40. which seems very good value.  The train changes onto a branch line at Truro, which was a 10 minute wait, but given our children’s love of trains this proved excellent.  The ride is beautiful, taking in some lovely countryside and stunning estuary views.  Once at Falmouth we went to the Maritime Museum which serves as a great family day out for young and old with lots of hands on displays and interesting things to read.  The girls particularity love driving the little boats.

We headed to Pizza Express for lunch as it is a safe option with two small people in tow, we sat on their balcony over looking the boats, it was utterly glorious and stunningly hot so we had a lovely lazy lunch whilst the girls enjoyed watching the comings and going of the harbour.  We would highly recommend a day out to Falmouth, especially taking the train to get to there it is a great town with something for everything.

Talking of public transport the great news is the bus that stops outside has started going to Heligan again so you can now leave your car here and pop up there for the day – a lovely day out and with tickets with 25% off available from us you are sure to have a good day.
