Today we got the long awaited news we can open from the 4th July – a double celebration as it is also Richard’s birthday! We are still awaiting the guidance documents from government which accompany this announcement. We need to read this thoroughly, but it is now hoped we can open the toilet block from mid July.

This week we have taken the decision to stop taking bookings for July and August. This decision has been heart breaking, but we simply do not know how and when we will be allowed to open. There are many rumours circulating, many based on speculation rather than fact coupled with a high demand for outdoor UK holidays.

No news is good news apparently.  Little Winnick remains shut currently until 7th May, as per the Governments guidance. Currently we have no idea as to when these lock down restrictions will be lifted on our business.

The best Easter we have known with wall to wall sunshine, beautiful dry pitches, and not a soul to enjoy them! Wherever you are, we hope you are safe, happy and well. We hope you are not too lonely and avoiding cabin fever too much.

Spring is on it’s way. There is a warmth in the sun and, despite only 10 dry days all winter it feels like we are turning a corner. Richard has spent the early part of the week raking up leaves and assessing how badly damaged the trees are and unblocking drains.  It is always exciting waking the site up after the winter and gearing up for the season.

Let’s talk about the blue skies and the amazingly amazing sun that finally blessed us with its warmth.  I laughed at myself as with this tiny bit of sun I insisted we spent the whole day in our garden despite the fact it was freezing; we cooked lunch outdoors on the fire pit, making our friends huddle around the fire and drink gallons of tea to keep warm.

In 2020 the blog is going to focus on things for you and family to do for free across Cornwall, or a very small amount as we all know that money doesn’t grow on any trees and holidays can add up.

‘Tis the season to have been jolly, and in my case get on with the long overdue ‘2019 Season’ review, so that I can get underway with the weekly blogs in earnest, that I have promised myself I will do – well, will try to do.

You lucky folks have a Bank Holiday within sniffing distance, what a treat having a long weekend.  We are full to the brim and looking forward to the atmosphere that the final summer bank holiday brings. This week, with no children until Thursday I have been busy eating and drinking.
