We love children here at Little Winnick – we have two of our own who certainly keep us on our toes. We have had a wonderful Christmas all together and have been on come adventures…
Happy Festive time to you all. If you are anything like us you will be full to the bream right now. I made a Christmas cake and I am the only one who eats it in this house so each day I have to have my one slice. It might be available to guests checking in come April at this rate!
I think when you have children you get a whole new perspective of time; everything flashes past at break neck speed, yet sometimes a day can feel like a lifetime. This is also true of running a camp site – and in many ways it is your baby, watching it grow into its full potential.
Here we are the end of the 2016 season. Today is the very last day of our season, we are just waiting say good bye to the last of our guests then we will close the door (and gates) on 2016. What a year it has been.
Without doubt, Autumn is our favourite season. Cornwall takes on the most amazing feeling, with long, lazy days, but with slightly less traffic on the roads and beaches almost deserted.
Last night we had the pleasure of enjoying Cornwall at its best; a long warm summers evening, down in the small village harbour of Gorran Haven eating fish and chips. The beautiful harbour has long been talked about in our family as a great place for tea and a treat, yet we had never made it down there.
When in Cornwall it is without doubt rude not to try a pasty…or two. We take great pride in trying to find the best pasty of them all, and this week with friends visiting we sent them off with one soul aim; to bring us home an ‘Ann’s Pasty’ from the Lizard.
Last night we were lucky enough to witness a pretty spectacular shooting star display down on the beach. We could have been anywhere in the world. It was warm, the food was amazing, the drinks were flowing.
So today is the 1st August and it is raining. It is only meant to be full on rain today then odd showers this week. But guess what our main topic of conversation is this morning – the weather.
